Adult Education Classes & Workshops

Throughout the year we offer various workshops and courses for teens and adults in partnership with the Tacoma Nature Center. Check back often to see which classes are coming up!

Beginning Birder’s Class – Starts November 4th, 2013

Want to identify the birds on your feeder?  Are you still trying to sort out all those ducks out on the water? Are you interested in learning skills to identify birds on your own?  Then this is the class for you!

Teacher:  Marcus Roening is a Master Birder and Past-president of both Washington Ornithological Society & Tahoma Audubon Society. Marcus loves to share his joy of birds with beginning bird watchers.

Dates:  Classes Monday:  November 4, 11 & 18.  Field trips Saturday: Titlow Beach  from 9 am to noon,  November 9th and 16th.

Time:  6:45-9:00pm (class instruction)

Location:  The Tacoma Nature Center, located at 1919 S. Tyler St., Tacoma

To Register: Registration is required through the Tacoma Nature Center.  Check the fall 2013 Go Guide online for details.

The National Geographic Field Guide to the Birds of North America is the preferred class text. Other bird field guides that contain range maps are also acceptable.
