Osprey Club at Fort Lewis
Led by Liz Ortiz and Ken Benton
During the 2009-2010 school year, the OSPREY Club at the North Fort Lewis Youth Center accomplished many things. In addition to planting a vegetable garden in front of the youth center and learning more about habitat at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, we took several field trips to American Lake, where we:
Conducted bird surveys
learned about animal tracks,
Picked up 18.6 lbs of trash
some of which was pretty gross!
went fishing in the rain
and managed to catch a fish!
We got a little wet, but had a great time!
